Free mental health support for people registered with a GP in Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby area

People who are registered with a GP in Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby areas can access free mental health support sessions without having to see their GP first, thanks to a new service launched by The Retreat and the Heartbeat Alliance.

This free service is for anyone struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, panic, sleeplessness, relationship issues or anything else that’s affecting how you’re feeling right now.

Please note this service is for people registered with a GP practice which is part of the Heartbeat Alliance Federation. To see whether your GP surgery is part of this service please see this list.

Sessions are done over the phone or via secure online video links, with a qualified psychotherapist from The Retreat, who will listen and explore what might help you.

The support sessions are confidential and we will only share with your GP a brief outline of your reasons for contacting us.

The service is not suitable for people who are under the care of a Community Mental Health Team or who feel they need immediate or urgent treatment in order to keep either themselves, or someone else, safe.

If you are aged 18 or over, and you are not under the care of a community mental health team, please call 01904 412551 and let the person answering the phone know which practice you are registered with. You can read more about the service here.
