Our skilled counsellors, psychologists and therapists will listen to you in a non-judgemental way in a private, confidential setting or in your own home via a video link or telephone. Group Psychotherapy

Group psychotherapy is a longer term therapy, providing a safe space so that people can talk about their difficulties. This increases self-understanding and improves relationships with others. Being able to express difficult thoughts and feelings makes them feel less overwhelming and in time, more manageable.

Compassionate Mind Training

If you tend to relate to yourself harshly, critically or judgmentally,  or struggle with your mental health then you may benefit from a course of Compassionate Mind Training online group sessions that has been designed with you in mind.

Couple Therapy

What is Couple Therapy?

Couple relationships impact our wellbeing, our children’s mental health and development and how we engage with others in our community.  If your relationship feels more like a source of stress than support, when ‘talking just makes it worse,’ it may be a good time to talk to us.

Who Might Benefit from Couple Therapy?

People benefit from couple therapy for many different reasons. It may be that the relationship has broken down or that there is anxiety that it might.  Your relationship may be suffering due to personal loss, a change of circumstances, an additional relationship, a mental or physical health problem.

Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)

In Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) your therapist works collaboratively with you to examine the events and relationships(often from childhood or earlier in life) that underlie your thoughts, feelings and actions . It brings together ideas and understanding from different therapies into one user-friendly and effective therapy, the purpose of which is to help you make sense of your situation and to find ways of making changes for the better.

Compassion Focused Therapy

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is helpful when shame, self-doubt or self-critical thoughts are contributing to and maintaining difficulties. This can be in response to life changes and new challenges, or an accumulation of exhaustion or low mood. People sometimes find themselves working too hard or striving to meet unrelenting high standards and continuing to feel unsatisfied.

Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is an effective form of treatment for, in particular, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

A key element of EMDR therapy is “dual stimulation”. This is where the therapist will use tones, taps or lights, asking you to move your eyes in response. You attend momentarily to memories, present triggers, or anticipated future experiences while you simultaneously focus on the tones, taps or lights.

Counselling and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Counselling and psychodynamic psychotherapy is typically open, flexible and explorative, and is helpful for individuals who are curious about their problems and would like space to better understand why and how they feel as they do. This type of therapy often references early life experiences which may link with current distress and particular attention is paid to relationships, including the relationship formed between you and your therapist.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the way we think (cognition) and behave, and how these impact the way we feel. We can all develop unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving which over time can create difficulties in how we respond to upsetting or stressful events. CBT helps to identify and change problematic patterns of thinking and behaviour that impact on life.

Tailored to your requirements

We offer a range of individual and group therapies in line with NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidance. All of our therapists are highly trained, experienced and committed to continued professional development. Many therapists have training in more than one therapy modality, and are therefore in the best position to offer tailored, individualised therapy to meet your needs, drawing from the most up to date, evidence-based interventions.

Our therapies were usually delivered face to face, in relaxing therapy rooms. However during the coronavirus pandemic (and beyond) we offer appointments via video link, using a secure platform called 3CX, which does not require you to download anything.

Is the service confidential?

All our services are confidential, and our therapists and clinicians follow professional codes of conduct which include principles around confidentiality. This means we will not disclose information about you to a third party without your consent, unless we had significant concern for either your safety or the safety of someone else. We would make every attempt to discuss this with you if the situation arose.
